Ryobi's new HP line includes a new Ryobi 18-volt angle grinder. This new tool has a brushless motor and uses the 2 extra contacts included on HP and High-Performance batteries. The Ryobi PBLAG01B angle grinder is a paddle-switch model and is best used for cutting or shorter grinding. This new grinder will be priced at $119 for the bare tool and will be released in February 2021.

If you plan to purchase this grinder, I highly recommend you use it with 6Ah batteries or higher. I will show you in this video why! There is a cost to getting higher powered tools and it comes with purchasing the larger batteries that are needed for a good experience with these tools. I personally feel many will buy this new Ryobi angle grinder and use older batteries and have a fairly poor experience and skew the reviews of this tool online.

While Ryobi does label this as HP, there needs to be some clarification as to what batteries to use with what tool. Milwaukee named some tools HD to let you know you needed to use the High Demand battery. Still, people tried to use those HD tools with 5.0 Ah batteries and the comments from them were poor. As Ryobi expands the market into higher demanding tools, there needs to be some education of the consumer so people know what to expect. That is my opinion, take it for what you paid for it.

Have a great day!
