TUTORIAL FOR CUSTOM FLOATS!    • Custom Float Crafting Guide for CS:GO!

For any cs player, this skin should raise many questions. Not because of the skin itself, but the float. It’s a perfect float. And compared to the usual floats you see its just- too perfect. How is this possible? Did someone just get extremely lucky in a drop or was this created by someone?
Well I own 4 of these, and they are not unique, if you look on csgofloat, you will find that there are 3503 of these skins in existence. And there is an insane amount of these listed on csgofloat for a pretty cheap price, mostly from one seller. But how is it possible that a float so seemingly unique is so damn cheap?
To answer this question, I went to the sellers profile. His name is cyanide, a self-proclaimed #1 R8 collector. When looking at his inventory he has multiple pages of these seemingly “unique” perfect float skins. Some with a perfect .25 float and some with a .5 float.
something else that I noticed from this is that all these skins are either industrial grade or restricted, which at first sight may seem a bit weird, but if you look at the origin of the skins you’ll see why:
all of these skins were crafted. Which means that these skins were made in a tradeup. And obviously you cant trade up to a consumer grade skin. And csgofloat confirms this as there are only 16 consumer grade skins with a perfect .5 float.
So someone created these on purpose, but why? I think the answer is actually pretty simple. Its all about profit. Most of the skins with a perfect float are from some of the cheapest collections, and if we look at what you’d need to trade up to these skins, you’ll see that they are only 4 cents per skin. That means that a tradeup to a perfect float would only cost 40 cents to do. and these skins are listed on csgofloat for 75 cents. So for every tradeup these people do, they would make 35 cents. provided these actually sell for that amount. It’s a riskless tradeup to do.
So now that only leaves the question: how do they manage to create these perfect floats so easily? Tradeups in csgo have a set way of calculating the float of the new skin by using the 10 input floats. That means that if you get the 10 exact right floats to do a tradeup you will get a perfect .5 float.
but that seems almost impossible, As this formula is really complicated and because floats in csgo are so specific.
What I assumed is that there had to be some type of tool to help people create these floats. so I looked to google and I found this tool. It’s a way to input floats you have and the float you want, and it'll generate the right combination of skins to get the float you want.
this tutorial describes how to use this tool and it was a life saver because im an idiot when it comes to that type of stuff, ill put the link to this video in the description for anyone who wants to create their own customs float skin.
what this website also shows is whether the float youre trying to get is even possible, I don’t know exactly how it works but it seems like theres only a few floats that actually end up being perfectly rounded up. For example, a .25 float is possible, but a .1 float leaves you with some numbers at the end.
And of course, the only floats that are absolutely perfect are the .25, .5 and .75 floats, 2 of the 3 floats that are listed on csgofloat.
whats interesting is that the .75 float is still much less common than the .25 and .5 floats. Im guessing the reason why is that some skins are float capped, and when you do a tradeup for a perfect float, you don’t want to get a chance that it messes up your float
So these “unique skins” are the absolute easiest perfect float skins to craft which makes it easier for them to get mass produced by people to get profit from selling it.
Now that I know how to do it, I had to try it for myself. And im not like these people spending only 40 cents on a tradeup, so im gonna try and get a Five-Seven case hardened with a .25 float.
These skins, with a .5 float that seem unique, are essentially just like any other skin in csgo, the only difference is that the people who made these skins knew something others didn’t, and its really interesting to see how that affects the skins price, and im sorry to all the people who own these items that I just ruthlessly fucked by making this video.
but I hope you enjoyed this video and click this to find out about the mystery behind the worst kato14 holo!
