The Dujiangyan Irrigation System is the world's oldest non-dam irrigation system that's still in use. It was built around 256 BC, over 2000 years ago. The system has survived earthquakes, wars, and time. To this day, it helps to make Sichuan province the most agriculturally productive province in China.
