As we all know energy prices are shooting through the roof 🤬🤬
I’m not saying that I’m minted and don’t care about the cost of gas or electricity but I understand how to use my boiler correctly.
Things your boiler needs to not burn gas 24/7:
✅A room thermostat - so long as it’s working and connected it can be a rotary, wired, RF or smart stat
✅Make sure draft excluders are in good working order
✅And trust in an gas engineer that practices what they preach
So if you have the above, set the programmer or programmable room stat to constant on (if it does not have this function get a programmer/thermostat that does).
Set the temperature to something comfortable
(ours is 18 degrees C).
Leave it at this temperature, then when you are chilly increase by a few degrees.
trust me you will notice the difference
Then when your warm turn back to your base temperature (again ours is 18 degrees C).
What you are doing is maintaining a constant temperature instead of allowing your home to go clot cold then reheat and burn more gas in the process
You will see steadier cheatper bills but ONLY if you have a working thermostat fitted to your boiler 👍🏻
