Band-Maiko is a sub-unit of the Japanese rock band Band-Maid, which first appeared as an April Fool’s Day prank on April 1, 2018. The concept behind Band-Maiko is “Maiko x Hard Rock,” with the members wearing maiko (apprentice geisha) outfits and singing lyrics based on the Kyoto dialect.
