1958 TYPHOON 7cc inline twin diesel engine from Holland first test run!

Only around 25 of these lovely unique Dutch inline twins made back in 1958.

I was unsure of what prop to use so chose a 12.5"x 6" prop and used D1000 high oil content Model Techniques diesel fuel.

Well, I removed the exhaust, primed each cylinder and it started second flick!
The needle kept rotating to a rich setting so it needs a small spring adding to give some tension to stop that tendency, but otherwise, it's easier to start than a Mills 0.75cc diesel engine!
This recording is from the first test run in many decade's of sitting in my Dad's display cabinet, I'm truly amazed how easy to start and the reliable idle it has.
The prop is too large, it needs a 11" or 10.5" diameter prop to allow it to rev up and really go. I could feel it wants to give a lot more, the compression on each cylinder is fantastic and thankfully the bearings are all smooth. What a superb piece of engineering from Holland! Plus it looks much nicer than a good old Taplin Twin in my mind!
