The summer went by, it was so fleeting... so it seems.
Now it's time to do some fall clean up. Autumn is beautiful, with the leaves changing colors, we know that change is in the offing. The warm summer days are over now replaced by cool weather for delightful fireplace heat and cozy sweaters. While the dahlias need to be lifted for storage (if that is what one wishes), the melancholy feeling is short lived and quickly replaced by excitement at the prospect of planting autumn bulbs for spring flowers.

The weather has quickly changed and so have the garden.
Grab a cup of relaxing hot beverage and please join me in this video. I hope that you'll be entertained... maybe rest and relax a bit white watching this video.

Others may shy away from gardening because of supposed hard work, for me, that is actually a great part. We can choose what to take on, really. I could choose to leave the dahlias in the ground to turn into compost, the soil will be richer and the earthworms will have a feast in the process. All good things. Or, I could choose to lift them so I could have more delightful dahlias next summer. I may be taking some of the earthworm's precious dinner but I chose to lift the dahlias for storage. Perhaps I could supply the precious critters with some other delicacy. There's some eggshells, coffee grounds and some peelings on the kitchen sink as we speak.

It's been cold here lately, with gloomy skies and scattered rainshowers. Yesterday, we had a windstorm. I am so glad that I finished planting the potted roses in ground. Well, I still have a few miniature roses to plant but the big bushes are now safely tucked in. Most of the hyacinths and tulips are already planted. All these little accomplishments adds up to make a whole fulfilling autumn season.

Welcome to Delightful Souvenirs from the Garden, a collection of gardening moments and experiences. Thank you for coming to learn and garden with me. I hope you enjoy yourself. My name is Maiah, an amateur gardener. My little garden is located in the North (New Brunswick Canada). Our summers are very short (100-110 days a year) and the temperatures can go down to minus 20 (even -30) degrees Celsius in the winter. The fleeting time makes every moment in the garden special. This vlog is meant to collect those delightful moments in the garden as keepsakes and remembrances of lessons learned.

Thank you for gardening with me, I hope you enjoy yourself.
Happy gardening!

Maiah
