Odyssey is seen at anchor in Belfast Lough.

Odyssey is owned by Villa Vie who are going to use her as a residential cruise ship on a 3 year round the world cruise.
The ship was due to depart Belfast on the start of her voyage in May 2024 however while receiving a refit by Harland & Wolff a problem was discovered with her gearbox & rudder which delayed her departure by 4 months while they waited for new rudder stocks to be manufactured for the vessel.

As a result of this delay the passengers / residents who will live on the ship during the duration of the voyage have had to make Belfast their temporary home for the past 4 months with some of them staying in Hotels , Airbnb's & Rented apartments.

The delay to this voyage has made the news headlines in several countries.

Odyssey eventually departed Belfast on the 30th September 2024 however she didn't make it too far.
The ship has been put on the anchorage in Belfast Lough while final pieces of paperwork are completed.

The ship is now expected to finally depart Northern Ireland on the morning of Tuesday 2nd October.

This vessel was launched in 1993 for use by Cunard and was named Crown Dynasty.

In 1997 she was transferred to Majesty Cruise Lines who renamed her Crown Majesty.

However this didn't last long and she was transferred again to Norwegian Cruise Line at the end of 1997 who renamed her Norwegian Dynasty.

In 1999 she received her original name again.

In 2001 she was sold to Fred Olson Cruise Lines they renamed her Braemar.

In 2020 she was laid up in Scotland as a result of the covid 19 pandemic.

Then finally in 2023 Villa Vie purchased the ship and she was renamed Odyssey.

Also seen in the video is Stena Forwarder which was on route from Belfast to Birkenhead.
