We are Doug and Sanj, a gay couple from England who had a dream of having a family and this is the story of our IVF surrogacy journey from the twenty week scan all the way through to the birth of our baby. We have created this surrogacy video diary / vlog over the months leading up to our baby being born and us becoming gay dads. We went on this journey with the help of an incredible woman who was our surrogate (or gestational carrier – a very clinical term!) and carried and birthed our baby into the world. We also had the help of another incredible woman who was our egg donor as part of the process too.

We hope our surrogacy story can help give insight into the relationship we have with our incredible surrogate and hopefully bust some myths about what the process is like! Our surrogacy journey took us across the world from England to the USA during the coronavirus pandemic and was the most incredible and emotional experience of our lives. We learned a great deal throughout the process and hopefully this can help tell a story of surrogacy for anyone interested in doing this themselves or for people who are just interested.
