Iran Summons German, Austrian Envoys After Israeli Missile Attack | Vantage With Palki Sharma

Iran summoned German and Austrian envoys after its own ambassadors were taken to task in the two countries over Iran's recent missile attack in Israel. German ambassador to Tehran Markus Potzel and Austrian envoy Wolfgang Dietrich Heim were separately called in by the Iranian foreign ministry on Thursday. Tehran has condemned the "continued bias" of the European nations against the Israeli attack. On October 3, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei, condemned what he called “the continued biased and irresponsible approach” of the G7 group after the latter criticised the attack on Israel. At an emergency UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday, Iran's UN envoy Amir Saeid Iravani said that, "Every act of restraint taken by Iran has only emboldened Israel to commit greater crimes and more acts of aggression. As a result, Iran's response was necessary to restore balance and deterrence." Iran launched around 200 ballistic missiles towards Israel on Tuesday night. It was Iran’s second such attack on Israel this year after it launched about 300 missiles and drones in April.
