“On the Rocks” is an acoustic ensemble composed of cello, mandolin and two guitars, that specializes in love songs for weddings preludes and processionals (such as Pachebel’s Canon). They can also entertain guests at the reception and dance with their electric rock band, The Songbirds. “On the Rocks” is also a great choice for other quiet venues such as restaurants and wineries.

Band Members:

Larry Lingle (guitar): Touring/session guitarist/vocalist with over 40 years pro experience, most recently touring with Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons in 2015-16. Also producer, singer/songwriter/composer of RnB, Soul, Rock, Smooth Jazz, Pop dance, EDM and other modern electronic based genres.

Betty Nightingale (guitar, mandolin, ukelele): Has been playing music for as long as she could hold an instrument. She plays guitar, mandolin, ukulele and has sung in several bands but more seriously since arriving on Hornby Island. Betty is also a member of 'The Songbirds' dance band.

Cath Gray (cello): A lifetime of playing cello and singing in choirs instilled her love of making harmony. Cath also plays and sings with various other groups including The 'Songbirds' dance band.

Don Geppert (guitar): Played guitar in many pop bands and club show bands in Vancouver during the 60’s. Professional Sound Recording Engineer (45 years, Vancouver, Toronto,) and College Professor (26 years teaching audio engineering) returning to his musical roots playing guitar and producing with The Songbirds on beautiful Hornby Island where he visited from boyhood and has lived for 6 years.
