HP periodically performs automatic updates if you have not manually turned them off, causing your printer to lock you out of being able to print, stating firmware has blocked the installed cartridges.

This can be done on Windows 11 and has been tested over a Wifi, Wired Network and USB connection. Just make sure the machine you're updating from is on the same network as the printer!
