This episode discusses the interrelationship between beings, the world and God. What is the outcome of understanding this interrelation? One who has attained this supreme knowledge, how does he interact with others and how can he make others understand what he knows? And one who negates this knowledge (treating world, himself and God as different from each other), how does he live in the world? These thoughts have been depicted through the popular story of Bhakta Prahlada and his father, Hiranyakashipu.

When Lord Vishnu killed Hiranyaksha, his brother Hiranyakashipu got agitated and performed penance to please Lord Brahma. He was seeking a boon to become immortal. He asked for a boon that he could not be killed during the day nor at night; not by a human or an animal, not indoors or outdoors. Having been granted such a boon he started living an arrogant life, thinking that he could never be killed. But life took a turn when his son Prahlada was born. Prahlada’s devotion to the Lord (slayer of Hiranyaksha) angered Hiranyakashipu so much so that he ordered that Prahlada be slain. Then what happened? Find out
