Back In 2018 I had the privilege to travel to both Thailand and Laos in South East Asia, and I had the chance to meet and talk with lots of friendly people along the way.

The 'Enlightened Zen Master' that I met, along this the 'Young Apprentice Monks' all had kind words of wisdom for this tired old traveller!

This short film also includes the "Giving of Arms" ceremony. Every morning before dawn, monks start walking across several streets in town, and collect 'Sticky Rice' from the People of Lunang Prabang. The morning collection of the bonzes (in Lao : Tak bat) is an animated tradition for the population of Luang Prabang.

"Tak Bat Thewo" means "Tak Bat" or "offering food to the Buddhist monk" in a day after Ok Phansa day, the 1st day of the 11th waning moon. The word "Thewo" derives from "Theworohana", which means coming down from the heaven.
