There is a lot of very poor quality riding gear!I am one of the latest victims. A friend gave me a set of M2R pants and jersey... still in the original packaging.I was only 10 minutes into the first ride with this motocross riding gear when the guys told me I had a big split down the rear seam. No accidents with these enduro pants and jersey. No pushing through dense vegetation. Just a lot more ventilation than I expected. The second ride? I get a matching split down the other rear seam. The fourth ride with these motocross pants and jersey? There is a similar split down the front seam. The seventh ride? Another split down the front of this enduro riding gear. There are also holes developing in the legs of these motocross pants. And there are frayed threads everywhere and the outer material is half worn through in many places, despite no tearing or abrasion. The good news? These are now the most ventilated pants I have ever used. And the internal mesh liner is intact. Perhaps M2R should use the mesh liner as the external material too. Where is it made? China. No surprises there. Many budget brands choose generic Chinese-made products and just get their logo stitched on, instead of another brand's. I am researching motocross/enduro pants and jerseys now. Please let me know your good and bad experiences with riding gear. What was the brand? Country of manufacture? What went wrong? How long did it last? I will report back. So far, the worst brand appears to be Fox. While some riders report no problems, there are many who say the quality of Fox pants and jerseys has been very poor recent years. The best brand? Klim seems to get the most positive reports from riders. But it is very expensive and there are still negative experiences... mostly with Klim gloves so far. The good news? Not too many brands opt for Chinese made pants and jerseys. Oneal used to sell Chinese-made pants and jerseys, but seem to have changed to Taiwan recently. I checked in my local motorbike shops and Alpinestar, Shift, Thor and Fox all appear to use Vietnamese manufacturing now. Let me know your experiences, and I will report back!
