The 3 kids in their childhood were actually toxic friends. They would make stories to tell Bakugou making him think that Deku feels like he's superior.

One day in middle school during their 2nd year the 3 boys took their joke too far. Bakugou breaks the All Might figurine Deku has been waiting for. In the midst of emotions, Deku cuts his friendship with him.

After All Might's retirement and their fight, they decided to reconcile and become friends again.
