These two lovable and seriously talented New Zealanders harmonise in their duet singing the 1970 Neil Young cover. I was lucky enough as with 2000 others to be treated to a star-studded night in the Christchurch Hall to raise money for the victims of the tragic disaster of Cyclone Gabrielle. This Impromptu fundraising gig was a heartfelt, emotional evening featuring Lorde, Neil Finn, Marlon Williams, Tiki Taane, L.A.B and Supergroove joined by Lee Mvtthews, PRINS, 1 Drop Nation, Emma Dilemma, and Big Sima. More than $200,000 was raised for the Red Cross to distribute. The artists, crew people, venue, and behind-the-scenes people gave their time and resources for free. Today, the 5th of April is the fifth anniversary of my near-death experience from a massive surgical error of triple organ perforations during minor 'home by lunchtime' day surgery at Dunedin Hospital I required ICU treatment, a month in hospital, plus four more surgeries. However, this my channel is indirectly a result of my hospital horror. My Aroha (Love) of being up close and enjoying the action of live music plus filming it has motivated me due to my fight for my life five years ago today.
My life changed forever on 5 April 2018. But I have fought hard to get to where I am today. My battle is far from over. So, on this fifth anniversary, I want to thank my friends, whanau, health professionals, and others who have all helped me to get to where I am today. And last but not at all least. My two Oriental cats Ch.Wila Puck who served me for 18 years. And precious Wila Maylyn. Both were always there comforting me during my darkest moments. (RIP)
I stayed at the fabulous 'A Little Bit Beachy' in New Brighton. Couldn't have filmed this historical event so steadily if it hadn't been for the relaxation of this beach retreat. Not forgetting all of the above, too!
