The Martuwarra (Fitzroy River) low-level crossing opened to all 4WD vehicles, including 4WD tourist buses, on Thursday April 20th, 2023. The crossing was established after flooding destroyed the bridge in the town of Fitzroy Crossing, Western Australia. The bridge was the only wet weather crossing linking the Australian capital cities of Perth, WA, and Darwin in the Northern Territory.
