Tree in Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary, Nainital
This is one of the most massive trees ever discovered in Uttarakhand. According to forest department officials, the tree's girth was a massive 54 feet in 2014. This is India's largest Semal (Bombax Ceiba) or silk cotton tree. Its estimated age is between 150 to 200 years and the height is 120 feet, which stands in the Nandhaur Wildlife Reserve in Uttarakhand.
It's a mere 15 kilometers from Haldwani, Nainital.
This is also known as the Champion Tree of Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary.
