In this video I'll show how I silenced my anvil. After restoring my anvil and making a base for it, I realized how loud it was when working with it. My goal is to dampen that noise. There are many other ways to muffle it that I'm not going to be exploring in this video, such as fabricating a heavier stand, adding heavy chains... However, those do not fit in with my desire for quick, easy, and affordable solutions - preferably with the materials I already have around my workshop.

The results shown in the video come from tests performed without precision equipment and affected by subjective assessments (mine). The purpose of said tests was to measure the relative effectiveness of several simple steps one can take to silence their anvil.
