This evening we Chased Amtrak P095-13 with the 15 in a Thunder Storm with Strong rain. One heck of a chase, started following them at Airport Road in Williamsburg Virginia, then heard it hit the Defect Detector @ CA38.9 then saw it in the Williamsburg Amtrak Station, as soon as we caught up they were off on the road again. Got a Great Pacing shot from N. Henry St heading East in Colonial Williamsburg. We became engulfed in Red lights gained on the train but it then passed us at Grove (Busch Gardens). Got a shot of it passing us. Caught up again at Newport News Amtrak and spoke with the engineer, told her we'd follow it to the WYE and then to the Holdout. We Then headed to the WYE and saw it turn and we raced to beat it to Newport News Holdout @ Harpersville RD. Deadhead Non-Revenue Amtrak P078-13 left to Richmond 1 hour and 15 minutes late. The chase lasted 2 1/2 hours. It was great, followed about 50 Miles of track. A true railfanner would be chasing trains regardless of the weather!
