Original first-generation recording on Super VHS (SVHS).

Captured with an SVIDEO cable in 720x576, (note that this is higher than SVHS resolution at 400 lines, thus capturing everything in the best quality possible). Initial capture with a lossless codec, then compressed to H.264.
Input volume optimised to avoid clipping & distortion.
De-comb filter applied to smooth out the interlacing effects inherent in analogue broadcast recordings.
No on-screen logo.

The only flaw is the presence of Wogan's commentary, where he unfortunately talks over the songs. If someone has a CLEAN, raw, STEREO recording of the audio from this Contest (from the EBU feed), please contact me and I'll see if it's possible to take that audio as the source, while keeping synchronisation.

All this wouldn't be necessary if the EBU ever decided to release the pre-2004 Contests on DVD. Note that I will not upload anything from 2004 onwards, because that's when the commercial releases started.
