Mrs. Meridian's 3rd grade class is learning cursive today.

For the first 17 minutes or so, I'm working at my desk, grading papers, whispering unintelligibly, recording grades in the grade book, using scotch tape, flipping through textbooks. At 17:33, the day's soft-spoken lesson begins at the chalkboard.
