I took the finished plane to a local park to do some test flying. It ended up more like crash testing. I made four attempts to get it to fly, but each time it ended up nosing into the ground. I had been using 50% flaps which may have been causing it to pitch up before nosing over. Maybe I wasn't getting on the controls fast enough or was over controlling it. In the end, the nose ended up crumpled, the wings became disconnected from each other, the prop cut into the rear part of the fuselage, and the vertical stabilizer was nearly broken off. I had been flying it with the APM in the stabilize mode the first two times and in manual mode the last two times.
