This video is part of a series called The Musicians Hall of Fame Backstage - Vault Series. This is a series of videos that were recorded up to two years prior to the Musicians Hall of Fame opening to the public in 2006.

In this video Joe interviews Bill Carson. Bill was with Fender guitars for decades and very close with Leo Fender. He was the guitar player who took a Telecaster and cut it down to his specifications. He took a hacksaw and made the guitar body feel better to his body, both his arm and front so it wouldn't dig in his ribs. He talks about the development of that guitar which later be known as the Fender Stratocaster, the number one selling guitar in the world.

Bill was Joe were long time friends. Bill was also Joe's Fender Representative when he owned multiple guitar stores in Tennessee and Kentucky.
