今回は可部線の動画集をお送りいたします。可部線は山陽本線の横川駅より北に延びる鉄道路線で、広島県内屈指の通勤路線として利用されています。運用形態は2つ存在し、広島駅と途中の緑井の間で運転される列車と、広島駅からあき亀山駅を走破する列車があります。緑井駅より北は本数が減少するので乗車の際にはご注意ください。
使用されている鉄道車両は227系0番台で、「Red Wing（レッドウィング）」という愛称を持ちます。広島県を中心に運転されており、それまで使用されていた国鉄時代の鉄道車両を置き換えました。車内は転換クロスシートを採用しており、他のJR西日本の鉄道車両でも酷似したものが見られます。運転時の最高速度は110km/hに及び、1両にモーターが搭載された動力台車と逆にモーターが搭載されていない付随台車の両方が用いられており、設計及び製造のコストの削減に貢献しています。外観の赤部分は広島県の随一の観光名所である「厳島神社」や野球チームの「広島カープ」が由来です。可部線以外の路線でも使用されており、次回公開予定の山陽本線の動画集にてこの227系の詳細を突き詰めていこうと思います。
広島県では特に走行距離が短い可部線ですが、かつては現在の倍以上の区間がありました。中国山地へ向かっており、三段峡駅まで線路が伸びていました。可部駅と三段峡駅の間の路線は廃止されましたが、のちに可部駅とあき亀山駅の間が廃線箇所を再利用する形で復活を果たし、大きなニュースとなりました。実はいくつか廃線跡や車両の静態保存がされている箇所が存在します。立ち寄ってみることをお勧めします。
とりま今回の感想....あき亀山と河戸帆町川間での撮影時の体勢があまりにも気持ち悪かったのを思い出して軽く身もだえています..........

We are pleased to present a collection of videos of the Kabe Line. The Kabe Line is a railroad line extending north from Yokogawa Station on the Sanyo Main Line, and is one of the best commuter lines in Hiroshima Prefecture. There are two modes of operation: trains that operate between Hiroshima Station and Midorii on the way, and trains that run from Hiroshima Station to Akikameyama Station. Please note that the number of trains north of Midorii Station decreases, so please be careful when boarding.
The rolling stock used is Series 227-0, nicknamed "Red Wing. It operates mainly in Hiroshima Prefecture, and has replaced the JNR-era railcars that had been in use up to that time. The interior of the train features convertible cross-seats, which are very similar to those used in other JR West railcars. The maximum speed in operation is 110 km/h. Both a power bogie with a motor and an auxiliary bogie without a motor are used in one car, contributing to the reduction of design and manufacturing costs. The red portion of the exterior of the train is named after Itsukushima Shrine, the most famous sightseeing spot in Hiroshima Prefecture, and the Hiroshima Carp baseball team. The Series 227 is also used on lines other than the Kabe Line, and we will go into more detail about this Series 227 in the next video collection of the Sanyo Main Line to be released.
Although the Kabe Line has a particularly short mileage in Hiroshima Prefecture, it once had more than twice as many sections as it does today. The line was heading toward the Chugoku Mountains, and the track extended as far as Sandankyo Station. The line between Kabe and Sandankyo Stations was discontinued, but later the line between Kabe and Akigameyama Stations was revived by reusing abandoned sections of the line, which made big news. In fact, there are several abandoned railway lines and static preservations of railcars in the area. It is recommended that you stop by.
