Dr. Chang: Four years ago, when I first started my office, we have zero patients, through scratch startup, but I always had the vision to be the leading dental care center of Essex County and providing prevention focus, high-quality work and first class service in a friendly environment. So, how we're different from other offices in the area is that these provide almost all services under one roof. I've taken over 1,000 hours of continuing education in various parts of dentistry to be able to provide high-quality work for every patient that comes through the doors.

We also provide sedation dentistry, same day crowns with CEREC. A lot of patients, we can combine their procedures as well. If you're getting a root canal, an extraction or implant or wisdom tooth extraction or filling, all of that could be combined into one visit or even with sedation, that is the convenience that we provide at our office.

Before I became a dentist, I was a patient of a dental specialist and a dentist myself, the only thing that I don't have in my mouth is a root canal, but I've been a patient first for many years. I had many dental issues myself. So, I know how it feels to be in a chair, not knowing what's going on and having the discomfort and the anxiety. When I became a dentist, I made it a point to try to communicate with the patient, build a rapport with them, just listen to their concerns especially about anxiety. We don't take it lightly. We don't think it's their fault for having anxiety or be patronizing about their experiences. I always try to tell my team members that first class service, and being in a friendly environment, making the patient feel comfortable, always trying to hear what the patient has to say, and to find common things to talk about is so important because that makes them feel at ease.
