Our Third Jeep Badge of Honor Trail found us on Engineer Pass. We started just outside of Silverton and passed through the ghost town of Animas Forks. We summited the pass and encountered hundreds of sheep grazing on the mountain top. We passed through the ghost towns of Capital City and Ute Ulay before making our way into Lake City. After a quick lunch, we had to make our way back to Silverton. Four hours by traditional roads and a little over three to take Engineer Pass back. Due to the GPS taking us down a wrong turn, we ended up going on some gnarly trails that lead us to the middle of nowhere. Getting home took longer than originally thought but we made it!
