It's a common problem. The wall switch by the entrance door of a bedroom, office or family room is there to turn on a lamp plugged into a switched outlet so you have light to see. Unfortunately you need to plug in a computer, TV or cable box to that switched outlet! Now every time somebody comes in the room and flicks the switch, your computer or TV turns off.

Well, that switched outlet can be rewired and reconfigured fairly easily so that you can have power for both a lamp on a switch AND stable power for your other devices. In this video I'll demonstrate how to do it using a common example. You may also want to see the videos linked below.
