After a few hard days sinking into the snow more than necessary and advancing very slowly, I decide to face the Aigüestortes part in a somewhat different way...just over 40km of winter crossing await me through wild terrain, without nuclei of population, authentic national park, at the moment I begin this adventure I am still not aware of what awaits me, which I will discover in this and especially in the next chapter.
I leave Espot and enter the national park of Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici, I arrive at the Estany de Sant Maurici, with the Els Encantats mountain presiding over the image, from here to the Estany de Ratera and later towards the hill, avoiding the area of avalanches. From the top, I only have to lose altitude until I reach Estany Obago, then Rodó and Llong, to be very close to the objective of the day, Estany de Colomers and its refuge, which unfortunately is closed and I will be forced to sleep in the winter zone. During the day the sky fills with clouds, will it rain?
