In this video, I will be reviewing “Love, Theoretically” by Ali Hazelwood. Elsie Hanaway is a Theoretical Physicist who works as a fake girlfriend on the side. She is applying for a full time faculty position at MIT, but is surprised to learn that one of the people on the hiring committee is her fake boyfriend’s brother, Jack, who is an Experimental Physicist. Initially, Elsie and Jack do not get along, because their departments are somewhat at odds with each other, and also because Jack is suspicious of his brother’s girlfriend. As time goes on, they learn more about each other and realize that they may have been mistaken with their first impressions.

As I’ve said in other reviews of Ali Hazelwood books, the books follow a pattern that is similar in all of the books. Female scientist and male scientist are enemies. Male scientist is head over heels in love with female scientist. Female scientist realizes that they were wrong about male scientist. Other male scientist tries to thwart the academic growth of female scientist. Male and Female scientist end up in a relationship. This book followed that same pattern.
