The NAR Commission Settlement is good for the consumer and good for the industry.

Everyone is talking about the NAR commission lawsuit and I’m going to say what nobody else is willing to say. This was necessary and in the long run, this is good for the industry and good for the consumer. now before you start hating in the comments, hear me out. We all agree there are too many agents and 50% of agents do 1 transaction or less. It’s hard to say that’s good for the consumer. The current model allows those agents to keep working, but now those agents will now have to justify their value and if they can’t, they’ll be out of business.
There will be commission tightening, but I’ve said since 2019 that commissions were going to come down yet the income of top agents will go up. Good agents who deliver good value to customers will get more business as bad agents leave.
Your livelihood is only threatened if you’re not delivering enough value for what you get paid and there will be solutions for buyers who can’t afford to pay out of pocket.
With every change there will be bumps, and adjustments will have to be made, but overall, this is good for the consumer and good for the industry.
