The Democratic Alliance is confident it has a clear path to victory in the elections. The party unveiled its seven pledges to the people of South Africa on the lawns of the Union Buildings in Pretoria. It says due to the electoral decline of the ANC, a door is now open for the official opposition to become the governing party. DA leader, John Steenhuisen, addressed thousands of DA members during the launch of what he calls "The DA's rescue plan for South Africa."
