WELL! This one is odd. Normally I teardown engines. However, every car that comes through our auto recycling facility gets crushed for space savings on the car body hauler, after its stripped of course.
I felt like it would be fun to see how flat we could make this 1994 Honda Civic Sedan with our loader. Normally I would never spend this much time making a car flat as all I really need to do is smash the roof to fit more cars on the trailer BUT that seemed boring.
We dismantle and save all of the good parts prior to this, and by good parts I mean parts I know we can sell, sell as cores, etc. There are some parts that don't have a lot or any value and the space they take up plus the labor required to remove easily outweighs anything we could get for it. I don't like wasting good parts which is exactly what got me into this business. I hate seeing complete cars with good parts go to the shredder, its wasteful and ruins good parts in front of people who can use them. I wish I had infinite space to save more, but I have to keep my doors open and parts moving so I dedicate the shelves and labor towards parts that make us money.
I love these old civics, I get a few a year and not only do they part out very well, the customers for these parts are some of the best because they love their old civic and I can't blame them. They are the cars that Honda built their reliability branding from.

I know this isn't everyones cup of tea, so give me some ideas on how I could improve this type of video OR some other aspects of the business you'd like to watch.

As always I love all of the comments, feedback and even the criticism. Catch you on the next one!
