While Pride & Prejudice will always be my favorite Jane Austen story, Emma is a close second. Mr. Knightley really gives Mr. Darcy a run for his money. I love this story and this adaptation is superb. Starring Anya Taylor Joy and Johnny Flynn, Emma follows the life of a young matchmaker set on never marrying herself but satisfied making sure all of her friends are happily married. Her matchmaking hijinks turns into some heated arguments, misunderstandings, and all-around fun. Emma is known as Jane Austen's favorite novel because she said it would be everyone else's least favorite with such an unlikable protagonist. I disagree. While she may come off as arrogant and prickly in the beginning, it is clear she cares deeply about the people close to her.
