Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple located in 'Little India', is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Singapore. This temple stands as a testament to the devotion and community spirit of its founders. From its humble beginnings to its current status as a revered cultural landmark, the temple's story is one of dedication and perseverance. PM Modi during his 5th visit to Singapore will review progress of India–Singapore Strategic Partnership with PM Wong. Sri Srinivasa Perumal temple dates back to the late 1800s when influential community leaders desired to build a Hindu temple for Vaishnavite worship. They purchased a piece of land measuring 2 acres 2 woods and 24 poles from the East India Company in 1851 for 26 rupees and 8 annas. In the late 1960s, the main deity was changed from Sri Narasimha to Sri Srinivasa Perumal, and the temple renamed as Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple. The Temple's legacy continues to inspire community in Singapore today also, as the temple stands strong in the foreign land.
