Here is one part of the process on hand making a custom French Mat. The ruling of this mat is used with traditional ruling pens. Some people may use regular pens for this process but ruling pens are more traditional and I feel look a lot nicer. I added a gold line as the first line and the other lines were made with professional Artists' water color. The mat was also hand washed with professional water color.
