I've gotten a lot of requests to cover the Google certifications so I finally decided I would go out and get it, so I could talk about it in a bit more depth, so I did!

In this video, I'm going to:

Give a brief overview of the program and my opinions on it,
Talk about a strategy that will allow you to obtain this certificate for free as well as provide some free pre-game study materials that will help you with this effort.
Talk a little bit about what you can do with the cert, and

Brief overview of the program
So, like I said, I did go out and get this cert before making this video and this is what it looks like:
[pic of cert]

((B-roll of the home page or something))

So google offers a bunch of certs, but this particular one in particular was developed to teach you fundamentals necessary to be able to work entry level jobs in IT. So you might be able to find jobs in this salary range.
(Check out my video on how to find entry-level remote jobs)
In my opinion, having gone through the course, it's like a really distilled down version of CompTIA A+.
It does a great job of taking the most useful things from CompTIA A+ curating study material around it.
There are basically 6 sections or "weeks" (Actually the 6th one can be completed instantly, so let's just say there are 5) (notice I didn't watch all the videos)
Introduction to IT (Binary)
Hardware/peripherals (Learn to assemble a computer in a simulator)
Operating Systems (Log into actual virtual machines online and do stuff in them)
Basics of networking (Super basics of IP Addressing)
Software (Again, Log into some virtual machines, install, update, remove software)
Writing documentation, super easy
Overall I would recommend this cert to people who are SUPER new to IT for a few reason
It's possible to get it for free, or at least really cheap, which is what I'll talk about next
The material is really well presented in a relatively dynamic and interactive way. It's not just reading a book and not JUST watching videos. There are little activities here and there with hands-on portions
