Sen. Eddie Farnsworth, a Republican of Gilbert, clashed with members of LUCHA after lobbyist Hugo Polanco called the legislation was "racist." Farnsworth ended the public comment portion of the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing and community members disrupted the meeting by chanting in opposition of Senate Concurrent Resolution 1007.
