an all access behind the scenes look at the creative process behind the first song on the Jonah Marais mixtape Twisted Lullaby. the writing took 2 hours and has been cut down to 20 minutes leaving in the mistakes and bad ideas that lead to the final song. My hope is that this might inspire someone to write. It starts with some mumbles, a couple words and a melody I recorded on my phone. The lesson from this one is never be afraid to throw out a bad idea. Most of the best creative comes that way. my co-writer Jason Koenig filmed the whole session and contributes to the song from behind the lens and my producer Ryan Lewis is featured making music and leading us into songwriting. this was the first song I wrote as a solo artist and the first song we finished together as a group of collaborators.
