In Tours, a team from Inrap and the Service archéologique départemental d'Indre-et-Loire (Sadil) have unearthed the remains of Beaumont-lès-Tours Abbey, Touraine's largest and most enduring religious community.

Physically erased at the end of the 18th century, the history of Beaumont Abbey could only be read in the archives, but archaeology has now made it possible to understand the entirety of a monastic establishment.
