As we arrive in Zanzibar during the rainy period in March-April, we are greeted by the lush greenery and fresh air that comes with the seasonal rains. The island's landscapes are transformed into a vibrant and colourful oasis, with blooming flowers and thriving plant life.

During my stay, we also experience the holy month of Ramadan, which is a significant event in Zanzibar's Muslim community. The city of Stone Town takes on a unique atmosphere, with lively food markets and festivities that continue late into the night. Iftar meals are shared with family and friends at sunset, and the streets are filled with the sounds of prayer and celebration.

One of the highlights of our trip is visiting the spice farms in Zanzibar. The farms are a sensory feast, with rows of exotic plants and trees, and our guide explains to us the various spices grown on the island. We taste the fresh and juicy fruits right from the tree, including mangoes, pineapples, and passion fruits. The flavours are rich and complex, and we can taste the difference in freshness and quality.

Exploring Stone Town is also a must-do on any trip to Zanzibar. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and we are fascinated by the historic architecture, winding alleyways, and bustling markets. The oldest car in Zanzibar, a vintage car that is over 100 years old, offers a glimpse into the island's rich history and culture.

Przybywamy na Zanzibar podczas pory deszczowej w marcu-kwietniu, wita nas bujna roślinność i świeże powietrze, które towarzyszą sezonowym opadom. Krajobrazy wyspy przekształcają się w kolorowy i żywy raj, z kwitnącymi kwiatami i rozwijającym się życiem roślinnym.

Farmy są zmysłową ucztą, z rzędami egzotycznych roślin i drzew, a nasz przewodnik wyjaśnia nam różne przyprawy uprawiane na wyspie. Smakujemy świeże i soczyste owoce prosto z drzewa, w tym mango, ananasy i marakują. Smaki są bogate i złożone, a my odczuwamy różnicę w świeżości i jakości.

Eksplorowanie Stone Town jest również konieczne podczas każdej wycieczki na Zanzibar. Miasto jest wpisane na Listę Światowego Dziedzictwa UNESCO, a my jesteśmy zafascynowani historyczną architekturą, krętymi uliczkami i tłocznymi targami. Najstarszy samochód na Zanzibarze, zabytkowy pojazd ponad 100-letni, daje wgląd w bogatą historię i kulturę wyspy.
