SUMI VILLAGE is one of the oldest village in NAGALAND it is also known as SWEMI village during British rule. ENO SUPU was the FATHER of SUMI people, the word SUMI itself comes from his name.
SUMI being one of the oldest village, the forefathers had given the names of other village according to the historical events, no name was given without a history. It is henceforth in this history the names and meanings are given according to the oral source told to the younger generation.
