We’ve been thinking of ways to make our living room more lively and Siah had the brilliant idea to add an accent slatted wall. We decided to start the slats 10inches away from the corner of the wall and end it just in the middle of the wall and it made all the difference! (FYI we did half inch spacing between each slat!)

In this video, from start to finish, we show you how to make a slatted wall in your own apartment or house. Something to note is that we used double sided sticky tape in the video but we highly recommend using velcro command strips (See link below) since it allows for more adjustment capability and runs less of a risk to damage your wall when it comes time to peel off the strips. You can also get the command strips from a local big box store such as costco.

Got questions on any step of this process? Ask away in the comments below and we’re more than happy to help answer!

Below are the items we used to make this beautiful wall:

Painters tape - https://amzn.to/3a4xXxC
Velcro Command Strips (We used 2 - 3 per slat) - https://amzn.to/3ubqpzJ
Measuring Tape - https://amzn.to/3y2kBtJ
1 ½” x ¾” x 8ft SPF Common Board - Home Depot
Behr Interior Semi - Gloss Enamel Deep Base 3300 - shorturl.at/nuwIM (Color: Dark Secret)

Although we used a miter saw to cut the slats, a hand saw, jig saw, or any type of saw you have will do the trick.

Hope you guys enjoyed the video and hope we were able to help you create a gorgeous accent wall of your own!
