We go on a trip back to the Desolation Wilderness as well as a day hiking in the Granite Chief Wilderness near the Squaw Valley/Palisades ski area. The trip took place in August of 2024 and was our second trip to Desolation in two years, for reasons I explain in the introduction. It is a spectacular place, so no complaints.
