Boringly segmented, brilliantly varied or bewilderingly linear – all three could be used to described Halo 4’s fourth mission, Infinity.

Infinity has plenty of entertaining bits and bobs – Promethean vision in the jungle and the later scorpion run to name a few – but because they’re all so disparate, they never combine quite as well as they perhaps should have done.

If 343 Industries had managed that, we might have got one of the best Halo levels regardless of developer...
