The Chinese government announced a trial visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from New Zealand, Australia, and Poland from July 1, 2024, to December 31, 2025; citizens from these countries to be able to enter China for business, tourism, visiting friends and family, or transit for stays of up to 15 days. However, Tibetans holding passports from these nations have faced significant challenges and differing treatment when trying to enter China, with some being repatriated.
