Let’s talk about the controversial compressor/limiter function on Hear Back Mixers. The very first, original Hear Back Mixer (the flared one with purple accents) had a limiter knob. It was…divisive. Some people loved it, but most people pulled the knob off or put tape over it to keep from confusing musicians. So, after hearing from lots (and lots) of users, we dropped the limiter knob from the newer Hear Back OCTO and PRO Mixers.

But some people really need a limiter function. Good news: The most recent firmware update for the Hear Back PRO Mixer (available at HearTechnologies.com ➡️ Support) implements an optional limiter/compressor function for those who want it - but leaves it optional for those who don’t.

So, if you’re an experienced audio engineer who likes to get into the finer details, this feature’s for you! If you’re a casual user who doesn’t usually mess with limiters? Maybe a good idea to skip it.
