In this episode, we're experimenting to see if we can heat our chicken coop using a 14 watt inline duct fan to move heat from our den, where the woodstove is, underground to the chicken coop.

We spent less than $100 in supplies and, if it works, we'll save a lot of power, too! That's important because we live 100% off grid using solar and wind to generate our power. Winters here dip below -20F so winter heat is sometimes necessary in the coop.

We're John and Greta and we've been Living Off Grid since 2020 in the high desert region of eastern Washington. We power our home with solar and wind, our water comes from a well, and we grow a lot of our own food in our greenhouses and garden.
