Once upon a time, there lived a beggar who longed for a different life. Tired of the daily grind of begging, he saved every bit of food he received in hopes of a brighter future. However, his stash remained modest and suspicions arose when his provisions started disappearing. Determined to uncover the truth, he kept watch one night and discovered a large rat devouring his hard-earned food. To his surprise, the rat spoke and revealed that this was his fate - wandering wouldn't change it.

Puzzled and desperate for answers, the beggar embarked on a journey to consult the Buddha about his unchangeable destiny. Along the way, he encountered various characters with their own questions for the Buddha - an old monk seeking enlightenment and a giant turtle on its thousand-year quest to become a dragon.

Intrigued yet overwhelmed by these encounters, the beggar eventually fell asleep on the roadside where he had an enlightening dream about voicing concerns that truly mattered. Reflecting on his journey and realizing that others' troubles outweighed his own, he chose to ask about the turtle's transformation, the monk's ascension, and why the mute girl couldn't speak.

The Buddha revealed profound insights - attachment hindered transformation for both turtle (24 pearls) and monk (precious staff), while destiny awaited mute girl upon meeting her destined spouse. Inspired by these revelations, our selfless beggar returned to share Buddha's wisdom with those he met along his journey.

This captivating story reminds us that changing our fate often lies in focusing on others' well-being rather than solely pursuing personal desires. When we give more than we take from life's tapestry of experiences, unexpected rewards await us in magnificent ways.
